Launching in Nigeria

AI that knows which law applies here.

Generic AI tools are brilliant everywhere and correct nowhere in particular. Contexta AI builds copilots for lawyers and accountants that ground every answer in Nigerian statutes, regulations and practice — cited to the section, verified by licensed practitioners.

Which companies income tax rules govern my client's return?

Every output cites its source. Same question, different period, different law — selected automatically.
The problem

Professionals do not buy intelligence. They buy work they can sign, file and defend.

A contract must satisfy CAMA 2020, not the foreign statute it resembles. A tax computation must follow the correct regime for the period. General-purpose AI blends jurisdictions, invents section numbers and answers confidently from stale memory — so Nigerian professionals either avoid it, or spend as long checking its output as drafting from scratch.

GROUNDED

Answers from the law, not from memory

Contexta retrieves the governing provisions from a structured Nigerian knowledge base before it writes a word. If the answer is not in the sources, it says so — it never guesses.

CITED

Every output shows its authority

Statute, section, regulator circular, effective date. You check the source in one glance, the way you would check a junior's memo.

VERIFIED

Licensed practitioners sign the sources

Every entry in our knowledge base is reviewed and signed off by practising Nigerian professionals before it can appear in an answer.

Why now

Nigeria just began its largest tax transition in a generation.

The Nigeria Tax Act 2025 and its companion statutes took effect in January 2026, replacing large parts of the former CITA and PITA regime. Every accountant in the country must now work across two tax regimes for years — returns, audits and disputes will reference pre-2026 periods long into the future. Contexta was engineered for exactly this: effective-date awareness sits at the core of the system, not at the edge.

NEXT

Contexta HR In development

Employment contracts, disciplinary procedure, payroll statutory deductions and labour-law compliance.

PLANNED

Contexta Legal Pro — litigation intelligence

Case-law research on Nigerian judgments, argument building for both sides of a matter, evidence-to-element mapping, authority checking and honest case-strength assessment. Decision support for advocates, never a substitute for counsel's judgement.

PLANNED

Contexta Health & new countries

Facility accreditation and health-programme compliance, alongside expansion of the engine to Ghana and Kenya.

How it works

The intelligence is rented. The jurisdiction is owned.

Contexta runs on frontier AI models — but the models never answer from their own memory of Nigerian law. Every response is grounded in the Localisation Engine: our structured, versioned, practitioner-verified knowledge base of Nigerian legal and regulatory content.

Official sources in

Statutes from the gazette. Regulator circulars from CAC, the NRS, NDPC, CBN, SEC and PENCOM. Professional standards. Filing procedures. Nigerian law is public property — our work is gathering it completely and keeping it current.

Structured and dated

Every provision is stored with its jurisdiction, profession, authority level and effective-date range. Repealed law stays in the base with a closing date, so a question about a 2025 accounting period is answered under 2025 law.

Signed by practitioners

Licensed Nigerian lawyers and chartered accountants review and sign every entry before release. Their sign-off is logged. Nothing reaches you except through a numbered, dated version of the knowledge base.

WHAT YOU SEE

Trust signals on every answer

Citations to the section. The knowledge-base version and date. And plain honesty at the boundary: where the law is unsettled or a question exceeds decision support, Contexta says so and points you to professional judgement.

WHAT YOU NEVER SEE

Guesswork dressed as confidence

If the governing source is not in the verified base, the honest answer is "outside current coverage" — never an invented section number. Coverage grows release by release. Credibility is not negotiable.

About

A regulatory-knowledge company that uses AI as its delivery mechanism.

Contexta AI Limited is a Nigerian company, built in Abuja. We exist because the gap between globally intelligent AI and locally valid professional work is structural — and closing it takes local professional networks, patient curation and licensed sign-off, not just clever software.

PRINCIPLE 01

The document decides

Our systems propose; the official source and the signing practitioner decide. That rule governs everything we build.

PRINCIPLE 02

Decision support, not replacement

Contexta strengthens professional judgement. It does not practise law or accountancy, and it is honest about the boundary.

PRINCIPLE 03

We comply with what we sell

NDPA-compliant from day one, with data-residency options for institutions and no training on client data.

Founder

Dr. Charles Umar

Dr. Umar founded Contexta AI after two decades as a health-systems and programme-evaluation consultant to major international development funders, working across Nigerian federal and state institutions. That career built two convictions: that Nigerian professionals meet international standards every day under harder conditions than most, and that the tools they are offered rarely respect the specific legal and regulatory ground they work on. Contexta AI is the answer to both — technology built to international standards, conditioned without compromise to Nigerian law and practice. He leads the company from Abuja.
